Our Story
Hey there! I’m Kelly, founder of Embby. Embby is a family own company located in 2024 in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, China. Fun fact: Zhangzhou is the global hub for quartz clocks, producing about 7 billion yuan ($968 million) worth of timepieces annually, with over 70% of the world’s quartz clock components coming from here and exported to nearly 200 countries [Source from Chinadaily]. At Embby, I just blend this legacy with innovation.
When I became a mom, I wanted a quiet, meaningful way to mark my baby’s birth—something that wouldn’t startle tiny ears but would hold deep sentimental value. That’s how our hand-embroidered clocks came to be: silent, customizable, and crafted with love. Now, I’m passionate about sharing these unique timepieces with you, whether you’re decorating a child’s room or looking for thoughtful gifts.
Every clock is made to order in our Zhangzhou workshop, where we blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design. We take pride in creating each piece with care, from the first stitch to the final package, ensuring it arrives ready to hang or display with its free multi-purpose stand.
Our Team
Our team is the heartbeat of Embby. I work with 30 incredible women from rural China, some of whom are disabled, who’ve transformed their lives through embroidery training. Their dedication shines in every stitch, making each clock a work of art. We also collaborate with over 20 master embroiderers from Suzhou city, known for their traditional hand embroidery craftsmanship. Together, we create timepieces that tell stories, not just time.
Crafting Process
Here’s how we bring your custom clock to life. We start by sketching your chosen clock design onto premium Korean Cottonvill fabric, then add watercolor pigments for a colorful base. Using a heat-erasable pen, we outline the embroidery pattern and personalized text you’ve requested. Our skilled embroiderers then hand-stitch the design with French DMC threads, ensuring every detail pops.
The finished embroidery is carefully cut and mounted onto a clock face. The frame is designed with a subtle slope—the base is wider than the top for better stability. The frame also sits slightly higher than the high-transparency glass cover, offering extra protection during shipping while letting the watercolor and embroidery details shine through. This durable glass ensures your clock stays beautiful for years, resisting wear and time. Each clock is assembled, tested, and arrives ready to hang or display with its multi-purpose stand, blending practicality with artistry.
Why 8-Inch Clocks?
We chose an 8-inch size for a reason—it’s versatile!
These clocks are perfect for hanging in a child’s room, sitting on a bedside table, or even being moved around by little hands. They’re lightweight, functional, and come with a free stand, making them ideal as both wall decor and tabletop pieces. Whether for personal use or gifting, they’re designed to fit seamlessly into any space.
Thanks for visiting—I’m excited to create a clock that’s as unique as you are!
